Tuesday, November 16, 2021: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) says a test conducted by its National Standards Laboratory (NSL) on the Ceres 100% Juice manufactured by Pioneer Foods Groceries Limited in South Africa shows that the product is not contaminated, neither was any hazardous substance found during the investigation.

The Ministry, following public alert about the product containing levels of mycotoxin-platulin, launched an immediate investigation into the matter and established that the Ceres 100% Juice is fit for human consumption.

The conducted laboratory test, subjecting the sample of the Ceres 100% Juice to both pyhsio-chemical and micro biological analysis indicates that the product doesn’t contain mycotoxin-platulin, a bacteria that causes contamination.

Based on the findings from the test conducted by the Commerce Ministry’s National Standards Laboratory (NSL), the Ceres 100% Juice has been cleared by the Ministry for sale on the Liberian market.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) commends the public for their continuos support and wishes to once more assure the Liberian people of its commitment to ensuring that products on the local market meet the acceptable standards.
