The Ministry of Commerce and Industry earlier this year informed the general pubic that in the midst of disruptions to the global supply chain posed by COVID 19 and now the subsequent Russia-Ukraine War, which greatly affects cost of freight and sourcing of commodities from international suppliers, the Government of Liberia remains committed to ensuring essential commodities remain available and affordable on the local market.

 

Subsequently, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry wishes to inform the general public that it has worked with Importers of Petroleum Products to ensure that there is sufficient stock in country to serve the market for the next couple of months. The Government of Liberia appreciates those fully executing their supply mandate as Licensed Importers of Petroleum.

 

The Government of Liberia remains committed to continuously engaging all relevant stakeholders to ensure essential commodities are available and affordable in line with the Pro Poor Agenda.

 

In view of the foregoing, the Government of Liberia will make no further increases in the price of Gasoline (PMS) and Jet fuel for the month of June, however there will be a slight reduction in the Price of Fuel (AGO).

 

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry will continue to appraise the public as new developments unfolds regarding the availability and prices of essential commodities on the local market.
