Press Release: Wednesday, June 1, 2022: As part of its ongoing measures to ensure a safe and conducive business environment in Liberia, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) will tomorrow, June 2, 2022, commence a one- month inspection across the country.
The month-long inspection will focus on dairy products, fresh frozen food, building materials, stationeries and beverages.
The essence of the exercise, to be executed, Monday to Friday, from 10:00 in the morning to 4:00 PM daily is to ensure that all unwholesome and hazardous products are removed from the local market. The inspection is also in accordance with the Commerce Ministry’s ongoing efforts to ensure that all businesses are in compliance with the General Business Law of Liberia.
The Ministry therefore calls on the public, mainly the business community to cooperate with its Inspectorate Division during the one- month nationwide inspection, as appropriate legal measures will be taken against those found to be in violation.
