Bio of the Deputy Minister for Central Administration

Min. George D. Wolo was born May 16, 1966 in the county of Montserrado, Liberia, and has a cultural family heritage from the Kwa speaking people of Sinoe/Grand Kru County. He is a Multi-discipline Liberian professional with over 20 years of work experiences within the Public sector and multi-national NGO & Company, such as Lutheran World Federation, Liberia charter and Pillsbury/General Mills, United States of America. He has been married for over twenty years with six dependents (children and grandchildren) and a dedicated Christian, serving a pivotal role (Co-chair on ways and means committee and Co-hair on policy development) of the Georgia Pattern United Methodist church, old Kru Town, Monrovia. Min. Wolo attended and graduated from academic institution such as, the College of Professional Studies in 1989 and obtained an Associate degree in Applied Science (Business Administration), Monrovia Liberia, and An Associate in Applied Science (Accounting), from the Henneipin Technical College, Minnesota, USA in 2004. He has also completed several professional courses and obtained Diplomas and Certificates in the following discipline: Supply Chain Management, EU Public Procurement, Workplace Safety & Health and Workstation Ergonomics in 2015 and 2016. Min. Wolo is a candidate for master in business management at the Atlantic International University (AIU), United States of America. He is a Performance Focus person with excellent time management and possesses superb communication skills and can easily build up rapport with peers and clients, and a tremendous team player with a strong organizational, accountability and interpersonal skill.

Min. George D. Wolo most recent role performed as a public policy administrator was, Deputy Minister for Industry, Ministry of Commerce and Industry; overseeing the industrial enterprise of  Liberia, ensuring a reliable and conducive atmosphere for industrial activities thereby safeguarding conformity assessment, quality control and standards. Key sectors under his supervision that champion these activities, were the Monrovia Industrial Park (MIP), located along the Somalia Drive, Gardnerville, and the National Standard Laboratory (NSL), located within the Ministry of Public Works Compound on Lynch Street, Monrovia. He was instrumental in the passage of the Liberia national standard Act by the Liberia National legislature, which establishes Liberia Standard Authority board that ensure the adoption and compliance of Liberia standards.  Serving as a private sector manager within the industry segment, he has served as food production technician, Pillsbury/general Mills, United States of America, a multinational company with offices in Europe, Africa and Asia.  As fundamental to his duties, he Superintends&Monitor food processes and carry out routine testing of food elements, packaging and food products to ensure safety, quality, and standards.  He also served as Logistic Officer/Warehouse Supervisor with the Lutheran World Federation, ensuring the smooth and safe distribution of relief items for vulnerable displaced people and refugees around the country.  He now serve as the Deputy Minister for Commerce & Trade services, at the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
