The nationwide general market inspection, expected to be concluded on Monday, March 1, 2021, is being undertaken to remove all unwholesome products from the Liberian market and as well regulate pricing of commodities throughout the country.

The exercise will focus on businesses engaged in fresh and frozen food items, rice, flour, starches, petroleum products and automotive materials.

Other areas of focus include beverages, dairy and second-hand products, electrical, electronics and building materials.

At the same time, the Division of Industrial Development and Compliance Support at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry will conduct compliance audit along with the Inspectorate Division during the inspection exercise.
