US Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call On Minister Axel M. Addy

Friday – Monrovia, 12 August 2016, US Ambassador Christine A. Elder visited the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to get acquainted with the programs, updates and challenges of the Ministry. Minister Addy and his deputies warmly received Ambassador Elder and delegation.

 

The meeting focused on the upcoming AGOA meeting scheduled to take place in September, the US Africa Business Forum and the US-Liberia Partnership Dialogue, as well as, the Regional ECOWAS and Investment Framework.

 

Minister Addy provided updates regarding the e-government programs being championed by within the government since the accession of Liberia to the World Trade Organization. Central to these projects are the national single window, verification of conformity, visa on arrival, etc. He also provided updates on the annual MSME Conference, the Marketplace project, Lofa Women’s Weaving Center, Monrovia Industrial Park, and the Liberian National Export Strategy on Tourism and Rubberwood.
