In the wake of recent   protests in Liberia, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has once more assured the Country’s business community of the necessary protection.

Commerce and Industry Minister, Wilson K. Tarpeh, said the CDC led-Government will ensure that all business institutions across Liberia are given maximum protection, considering the pivotal role business entities play in transforming the Liberian economy.

Professor Tarpeh noted further that Liberian Chief Executive, George Manneh Weah, is determined to ensure an affective and conducive business climate for the Country.

Minister Tarpeh   gave the assurance Monday, January 6, 2020, when the Commerce Ministry visited several business entities in Monrovia.

During the brief visit that led the Commerce Minister and team to several business houses in Central Monrovia and parts of Bushrod Island, he hailed them for always keeping their doors opened to the public, especially during the Monday, January 6, 2020 protest in the Country.

He said some of the business institutions visited by the Commerce Ministry are amongst those that have critical impact on the business sector of Liberia.

Speaking separately, the General Sales Manager at AROPA, Rabih Barbar, A-Z Corporation’s Commercial Manager, Rami Merhi and the General Manager at GBK Motors, Sulal S.B., thanked Minister Tarpeh and team for the visit.

According to them, the    visit, considered by most of them as the first of its kind by a sitting Commerce Minister in recent times, was timely and has re-kindled their hope for a conducive and effective business sector through collaboration between the Liberian Government and the business community.

Other businesses visited include City Builders, Sinkor branch,  Fuani Brothers, and Abi Joudi, amongst others.
