The Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI ) wishes to inform the public, mainly the business community that it will be carrying out a nationwide inspection of all businesses within the commerce of Liberia.

The nationwide inspection will commence from August to end of September 2024, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, daily. 

Sectors to be inspected during the exercise include but not limited to the following:

• Fresh Frozen Food,
• Supermarkets
• Building Material Stores
• Stationery Stores
• Beverages (Drinks)
• Rice,
• Flour

         Others are:

• Starches
• Chemicals/Fertilizers
• Electronics
• Automotive
• Second-Handed Products
• Gas Stations
• Manufacturing Industries
• Furniture shops/stores
• Garages
• Restaurants
• Hotels/ Accommodation 

The inspection is intended to ensure that all products found to be unwholesome and hazardous are removed from the local market and that all businesses operating throughout the Republic are in compliance with the General Business Laws of Liberia.

The Inspectorate Division of the   Ministry of Commerce & Industry will be vigilant during the exercise to ensure full compliance.

We therefore call on all businesses that fall in the herein mentioned categories to take due note and act accordingly in order to avoid any future embarrassment.
