24 Middle Level Managers Undergo Performance Management Training At Commerce

As part of efforts to build the capacities of employees of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry so as to propel them for future challenges,  24 middle level managers at the Ministry,on Thursday, May 30, 2019 underwent a one –day  Performance Management Training.


The exercise, dubbed Mandatory Performance Management Training was conducted by the Civil Service Agency of Liberia (CSA) at the Commerce Ministry. The one-day training was facilitated by the Deputy Director for Client Services and Standards at the Civil Service Agency, Mr. Ignatius Geegbae.

 

Speaking shortly before commencing his presentation, Mr. Geegbae said the CSA is committed to improving the skills of government employees and institutions at all times to enhance their performance. He called on the participants to be open and bold in raising issues that they might not understand, concerning the training.

 

Speaking earlier, the Deputy Minister for Administration at the Commerce Ministry, Mr. Wilfred N. Bangura, said Management saw the need to engage the Civil Service Agency on the training, considering its relevance to   appropriate planning and performance amongst those who provide supervision in the various divisions of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.


Mr. Bangura also  called on the participants to take the one-day Performance Management Training seriously. “As management, we believe that this process will have bearing on your performance as people who supervise others here and so we urge you to take it seriously, Mr. Bangura added.


In line with the training outcome and mandate, the 24 participants, including directors, assistant directors and supervisors are expected to in return transfer the acquired knowledge unto those being supervised by them.


Meanwhile the participants hailed the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Civil Service Agency for the initiative and vowed to utilize the acquired skills to improve their respective departments.
