MOCI Hosts Private Sector Engagememt On Business Inspection Reform

Monrovia-Liberia Thursday, May 7, 2015 the Ministry of Commerce and Industry held a one day working session to update the Private sector on The Business Inspection Reform.

 


The session which was held in the conference room of The Market Place on Carey Street brought together stakeholders from both the public and private sectors and was aimed at providing the business community a platform to provide the ministry with feedback on the new inspection regime.

 

 Making welcome remarks at the occasion, Acting Commerce Minister Hon. Cyril A. Allen, II spoke about the total rebranding process which is currently ongoing at the Ministry. He mentioned that the reform processes of the Inspectorate Division and how these reforms were to improve commercial activities in Liberia.

 


Assistant Minster for Industry Hon. Mohammed M. Turay made a brief presentation on the formulation of the General Inspection Procedures.

 

The Ministry received positive feedback from the private sector on the inspection and was encouraged to continue the process of harmonizing the National Inspections Regime. The Business community also requested that the Ministry continue with such private sector engagements and revitalize the Liberia Better Businesses Forum which was a vital channel for public/private dialogue.
