The Ministry of Commerce & Industry Concludes Three-Year Strategic Plan
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry concluded a two-day workshop on Sunday May 26, 2013 at the Mamba Point Hotel in Monrovia. The Honorable Minister of Commerce & Industry, Mr. Axel M. Addy set the basis for discussion by calling on all directors and deputy directors to work harder in improving the image of the ministry. Minister Addy envisioned a rebranded Ministry that would enhance trade and protect consumers.
The following objectives were achieved during the RETREAT:
- Develop a Strategic Plan that includes writing up a 3-year and a 1-year operational plan for a list of strategic objectives;
- Develop 3-year plans for support areas (Human Resource, Finance and Information technology) to support and enable delivery of the strategic plan;
- Management team to review each other’s plans for purpose of improvement;
- Assign task and responsibilities for post-retreat follow-through and implementation for prompt delivery of the Strategic and Operational Plans;
- Draft 3-year communication strategy.
At the end of the Retreat the following MOCI Mission Statement and Vision Statement 2013 were adopted:

In particular we will facilitate private sector growth, and set good policies and standards to achieve this.
Among our many partners we will be particularly focused on existing and new business, consumers, and helping move the informal into the formal sector.
We will do this with respect for all partners, with accountability for efficient and effective performance and with professional standards at a high level of integrity.”
