Ministry of Commerce and Industry meets with the Business Community

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), held a working meeting with the Business Community on August 19, 2014, to discuss concerns regarding the Ebola situation in the country.


The meeting was focused on the setting up an action plan to address public concerns on prices of essential goods.


The Ministry informed the business community of the upcoming training of the inspectorate as well as planned inspection exercise and the role of the community in ensuring that prices are kept stable and adequate stocks of essential goods are maintained and available.  


During their interaction, the business community was informed about the inspection procedures and encouraged the business community to familiarize themselves with the Ministry’s website (www.moci.gov.lr) and other social media outlets.


The Minister also discussed the risks posed by this Ebola virus to Commerce and Trade and assured the Business Community of the continued support of the Ministry.


Deputy Commerce Minister, Cyril A. Allen, II encouraged businesses to document their grievances as well as take advantage of the ministry’s hotlines.


The Business Community commended the Commerce Ministry family for hosting the meeting and recommended that the meeting be held on a monthly basis.
