Commerce Ministry suspends Senior County Inspector

Friday: April 19, 2019: Monrovia-Liberia: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has suspended its Sinoe County Senior Commerce Inspector, Richard Bessman, for time indefinite with immediate effect.

Mr. Bessman’s suspension is based on reports of the sale of expired goods that were seized during the Commerce Ministry’s recent nationwide inspection.

The indefinite suspension of the Commerce Ministry’s Sinoe County Senior Inspector will remain in force until a full investigation into the matter is conducted.

Mr. Bessman has been instructed to return to head office in Monrovia without any delay, and further requested to cooperate with the team looking into his alleged selling of the expired goods.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has meanwhile assured members of the business community of doing everything necessary to protect their interest and vowed to decry any unwholesome conduct by any of its employees.
