The Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Friday, February 19, 2016 visited Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County to engage the business community on issues of trade and business support. This visit was the first of ten county visits scheduled for 2016 under the Ministry’s dry season deliverables.

Several government agencies including representatives from the National Investment Commission (NIC), Ministry of Agriculture, as well as senior officials of the MoCI attended the occasion.

Commerce Minister, Axel M. Addy told the business community that the Ministry is going on a National outreach tour of several counties this year to engage the business community and discuss government’s business support services and provide extension services to county business organizations.

During the discussions, the county business community was mostly concerned about the availably of business registrations services in the county.

Deputy Minister for Commerce and Trade Services, Cyril A. Allen, II, told the business community that as of March 2016 the Liberia Business Registry will commence mobile registration in all counties. He also promised that Grand Cape Mount Count will be the first county to be visited with the mobile registration team.

Commerce Minister, Axel M. Addy conducted an inspection procedures and guidelines interactive discussion with the business community. Mr. KamokaiSendemanie, Deputy Head of the Cape Mount Traders Union praised the MoCI for the regional outreach initiative and requested that the Ministry do a follow up visit sometime at the end of 2016.

As part of the official Cape Mount tour the Ministry of Commerce Team visited the Ministry of Agriculture Fishery Warehouse, ENUSIL Fisheries Industry and the Dai and Yallah bridge projects under the Japanese Monetization Project.
