Commerce Ministry Commences One month Industrial Inspection

Monrovia-Liberia: Tuesday, March 19, 2019: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry will on Monday, March 25, 2019 commence a one- month Industrial Inspection of  all Food processing, beverages and water industries.The exercise, to begin on Monday, March 25 to April 25 will focus on Industrial Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

The month-long Industrial Inspection is in keeping with the mandate of Commerce Ministry’s Bureau of Industrial Services to implement and enhance Industrial safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) across Liberia. The exercise is also in line with efforts by the Commerce Ministry to ensure compliance in key areas, including standards and is necessary to provide protection for consumers and to ensure continuous compliance with industrial regulations.


During the exercise, a team from the Commerce Ministry’s Industrial Audit will also certify whether products on the Liberian Market are tested by the National Standards Laboratory (NSL) to meet international standards and also in conformity with the General Business Law of Liberia.


The Ministry of Commerce and Industry therefore requests all business entities to accord its technicians    the needed cooperation to enable them execute the inspection exercise with efficiency any without any hindrance.
