Commerce Ministry Official Attends Forum In Indonesia

Thursday: August 22, 2019: The Assistant Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mr.  Alphonso S. Kuiah, is among several other officials from Africa, taking part in a two- day forum on Indonesia- Africa Infrastructure Dialogue in the Indonesian City of Bali.


The gathering, held from August 20-21, 2019 and styled, Dailogue 2019, was held under the theme “connecting for prosperity " Bali.


During the two-day deliberations, panel discussions were convened, featuring prominent Indonesian, African and international policy makers as well as business people

.
The forum covered several major issues, including infrastructure; strategic industry and economic diplomacy connectivity, social infrastructure, tourism, energy and mining.


Other key areas of deliberations touched on financing scheme, trade and development corporation.


At the Indonesia- Africa Infrastructure Dialogue, the participants had a wonderful time interacting with panelists to the discussions, where crucial issues were outlined, with focus on opportunities and challenges, as well as exchanged experiences, success stories, and ideas for new policies in developing cooperation between Indonesia and Africa.


Parallel with the panel discussions, a number of sideline programs were held, including business exhibition, thematic business matching and Preferential Trade Agreements.


 At the end of the two-day event, a press statement from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Minister of Public Works and Housing of the Republic of Indonesia was released.


Liberia was represented at the two-day forum by the Assistant Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Alphonso S. Kuiah, Jr., who also shared his experience, taking into account the Liberian business environment.
