Commerce Ministry Steps Up Engagement With Stakeholders
The new Senior Management Team (SMT) at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) is continuing with its engagements with relevant stakeholders in line with efforts to share notes on issues affecting the Liberian economy through collaboration.
This week, the Ministry held separate discussions with delegations from the Liberia Business Association (LIBA), Liberia Chamber of Commerce (LCC) and the Liberia Marketing Association (LMA).
Promoting the requisite business climate that helps small businesses to grow, formalizing a minimum of between ten –twenty thousand businesses from the informal sector, youth rehabilitation through worthy ventures and a private sector sustains economic improvement dominated the discussions.
Commerce and Industry Minister, Amin Modad, indicated that ushering those in the informal sector into the formal sector will help them grow and in return begin contributing to nation building.
He mentioned that those who will form part of the process would be linked with banks in order to create specialized accounts for them free of charge.
