Spanish Ambassodor visits Liberia's Trade Minister

Spanish Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call on Liberia’s Trade Minister, Monrovia–Liberia on Thursday, 31 March 2016, Ambassador Luis Prados Covarrubias, Ambassador of Spain to Cote d’Ivoire and Liberia paid courtesy call on Liberia’s Trade Minister Honorable Axel M. Addy.

 

Minister Addy welcomed Ambassador Covarrubias to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and thanked Spain for its support during the health outbreak. Ambassador Covarrubias was also very grateful to the people of Liberia and expressed profound happiness that Liberia has overcome the health crisis. He indicated that a Spanish firm will be investing in the health sector.

 

Minister Addy provided details regarding the state of the economy, Liberia’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the development in the agriculture sector, specifically, the push for value addition in the cocoa, fisheries, rubber and oil palm sectors.

 

Assistant Minister for Commerce, Honorable Steve Marvie, and Alexander Shaikeh, Policy Analyst, participated in the meeting, as well as, the Monrovia-based Honorary Consul, Manuel Cuenca Casado.
